This past week has been tiring, exhausting and filled to the brim with activities. I am officially sick at this point as I write this post (just like I always am whenever I visit Kerala, and have to eat food that is just wayy too heavy for my system to process.. ugh), so I will keep it short. The very short list of things I am thankful for this week:
- Good doctors! Life is too short to put up with mediocre doctors. I am lucky to have a gynecologist that is respectful of my choice to be childfree at ~my age~, especially in India where dropping unsolicited opinions about the use of wombs is a national past time.
- Maggi. This last Friday, I got together with a bunch of old friends, people I have known since I was 19(!!), to reminisce about college days and trips taken together. I don’t get to catch up with this particular group very often, perhaps once a year when all of us are in the country at the same time… but it is always feels so amazing to listen to what everyone has been up to. As always, our talks went on well into the wee hours of the morning, and Maggi was there to save the day (night?) when we were hungry at 4.30 AM with no leftovers to eat.
- Decent home wifi. Vodafone has been KILLING me, with the worst possible network I have ever had to deal with. It is consistently horrible, all across Mumbai and I am disconnected from the world (and the way to figure out which routes are traffic congested!) every time I am out of home. I have come to greatly appreciate that connected wifi sign on the phone whenever I am home, and that access to fast unobstructed internet. :/
